Scott Gutz
President and CEO
As the chief executive officer and member of the board of directors of Onyx CenterSource, Scott Gutz brings his global experience with B2B outsourced technology solutions, travel and hospitality services, and business transformation to strengthen the pivotal role Onyx plays in hospitality and help fuel the next chapter of the company’s growth.
Before joining Onyx, Scott served as Chief Executive Officer for Monster, leading the company’s job board, media and government solutions businesses with a global team of more than 1,200 employees across 16 countries. Scott ultimately oversaw the successful merger between Monster and Career Builder.
Prior to his time at Monster, Scott held top leadership posts at Amadeus IT Group for 17 years, including as president and CEO of Amadeus North America. During his time there, Amadeus dramatically increased its presence globally and in the North American market from a GDS, airline, metasearch and hospitality perspective.
Before joining Amadeus, Scott was a Vice President at Oracle Corporation, where he guided corporate financial planning, SEC reporting, and mergers and acquisitions’ due diligence and integration. He was also responsible for the sale of the e-Travel business to Amadeus.
Scott completed his MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan Fellows Program in Innovation and Global Leadership. He also holds a Bachelor of Science from Babson College. Originally from Massachusetts, Scott recently relocated to Dallas, Texas, with his wife. He has three grown children and enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, being outdoors, and cheering for all of Boston’s sports teams (apologies in advance to his new Texan colleagues!).
“I’ve always loved the innovative aspects of travel. Many new technologies, business models and differentiated customer experiences start in travel and cascade to other industries. Travel is a battleground, perfectly combining price, convenience, time, experience and competitive differentiation. Travel is also measurable, and I love data: you can measure gains and losses, wallet share, conversion, channel performance, new entrants and industry trends. In travel, you know where you stand.”
