OnyxInsights data reveals continued rate resilience and improved commission performance despite regional market shifts
DALLAS, TX – July 30, 2026 – Onyx CenterSource, a leading global provider of B2B payments and business intelligence for the hospitality industry, today released its Q2 2026 Hotel and Travel Agency Commission Trend Report, revealing a quarter marked by resilient global commission performance, stronger payment efficiency, and continued regional divergence in hotel markets worldwide.
Powered by OnyxInsights and based on commission payment data from more than 150,000 hotels globally, the quarterly report found that while overall market conditions remained mixed, several regions posted meaningful gains in commission value driven by improving average daily rates (ADR) and stronger commission capture.
Globally, commissionable ADR averaged $232, while hotels paid an average of $22.60 in commission per room night. Average payment time remained at 41 days, with 9.4% of commissionable room nights still pending payment at quarter end. GDS agency bookings represented 15.1% of all commissionable room nights.
“Q2 demonstrates that while regional performance continues to vary, hotels and travel agencies are benefiting from stronger commission values in several key markets,” said Akshath Dhar, Senior Director of Business Data Analytics at Onyx CenterSource. “Markets such as Asia Pacific, North America and Oceania showed healthy commercial momentum, while improvements in payment timing across multiple regions reflect ongoing operational progress. These insights help our customers benchmark performance and identify opportunities to optimize revenue.”
- Asia Pacific (APAC) delivered one of the strongest performances of the quarter, with commissionable ADR increasing 3.4% year over year to $254 and average commission per room night rising 3.8% to $25.20. Commissionable yield also improved to 9.7%, reflecting stronger commission capture despite a slight increase in average payment time and pending room nights.
- North America combined operational improvements with higher commission returns. Hotels reduced average payment time to 38 days, while pending commissionable room nights declined to 3.7%. Although ADR softened slightly to $218, stronger commission yield lifted average commission per room night by 6.6% year over year to $21.80.
- Oceania recorded the quarter’s largest ADR increase, climbing 9.3% year over year to $164. Average commission per room night increased 7.4% to $16.40, supported by robust pricing across the region. Faster payment times further strengthened operational performance, although higher pending room volumes and slightly lower yield indicate continued opportunities to improve commission processing.
- Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) faced a more challenging quarter as commissionable ADR declined 6.8% to $256, resulting in a corresponding decline in average commission per room night to $24.80. Despite softer commercial performance, the region achieved one of its strongest operational improvements, reducing average payment time by nearly 8% to 43 days, demonstrating continued progress in payment efficiency.
The Q2 2026 report is powered by OnyxInsights, Onyx CenterSource’s advanced analytics platform, which enables hotels to benchmark performance across ADR, commission yield, payment timing, market share, funding analysis and future demand using industry-wide data.
